Description: Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Plastic Main Spring Housing, Checkered. Manufactured from a durable black polymer, this mainspring housing is designed for the Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy model pistol. The mainspring housing retains the mainspring within the frame. This housing features a checkered texture which complements the texture of the hand grip. Rely on factory-original Springfield parts and accessories to keep your pistol in top shooting shape.

I have a Prodigy, and intended to "pin the grip safety" and porked the entire process. So engaged in some Google-Fu to find a replacement (mine still worked as designed, but I hate grip-safeties) to poke holes into. MGW had a great price, in stock, so I ordered two just to be safe. They showed up in a surprisingly short time, and in an even shorter time I had ruined one of them (yay me!) so I finally got it right on the last one. The part was identical to the original equipment, so I've got no complaints... except that I'm not nearly as good at gunsmithin' as I thought I was.
