Description: MGW Carbine Length AR-15 5.56 16" Budget Upper Receiver Assembly. Built at Midwest Gun Works using some of the most popular components available today, this 16" upper assembly is a great option for budget builds. Using overstock stripped uppers, we built these carbine-length uppers with a 16" barrel and a thin 15" M-LOK handguard for ultimate versatility. The barrel is 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium constructed with a 1:8 twist rate, is threaded 1/2"x28, and comes with an A2 flash hider installed.
The stripped uppers that were used in these builds may have cosmetic defects. Having already been assembled in-house, there may be other minor cosmetic defects such as light tool marks, etc.
Please Note: This upper receiver assembly DOES NOT include the BCG (Bolt Carrier Group) or charging handle.

Perfect fit, extremely light, fast shipping - outstanding deal

Was looking for a lightweight inexpensive upper to drop on my Bushmaster BZ lower. Wanted a different lightweight range configuration to practice with. Needed it too before the Viginia laws changed 1 July. Ordered this and was not disappointed. First, after writing the company to tell them i live in VA and needed it priority, MGW upgraded my shipping so I got it within 3 days, well before the deadline. Second, it's light as heck but stiff, with just enough side and under M-LOK lanes to mount necessary accessories. I thought the large openings on the handrail would expose my hands to the hot barrel, but even after 4 magazines straight it instead dissipated the heat, so much better than my main BZ upper. Third, was concerned that with this price it would have a very loose lockup, but nah, solid and tight. Right onto the take down pins with no worry, popped some extra iron sights on with a back up reflex optic, then dropped my main's BCG and CH in and she ran smooth as silk. No chambering or feed issues whatsoever. The ONLY downside was the finish and ejection cover; there were some rough spots where the finish wasn't as smooth and felt rough matte instead of polished. They warn of this in the description, it's extra shop stock after all, but hey I bought this as a lightweight working gun and for the price it can not be beat. Great job MGW!
