Description: Lancer Systems AR-15 Carbon Fiber Handguard, Octagon w/o Rail, 8" Mid-Length. This lightweight, M-LOK compatible handguard is 9.25" long and weighs only 9 oz. Designed to fit standard M4 / AR15 upper receivers and variants, this handguard is made of carbon fiber with an aluminum reciever extension. The cooling slots help reduce barrel temperature and allow for the installation of M-LOK accessories. The hand guard is a free float design comprising of a custom octagon shaped carbon-fiber handguard tube connected to the upper receiver with a 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver extension. An upper receiver extension machined from 7075-T6 aluminum is provided to attach the carbon tube to the threads of the upper receiver. This, along with a QPQ nitrocarburized barrel nut, makes the free floating handguard an integral part of the rifle providing a secure connection. Fits barrels with a midlength gas system and fixed front sight post.

- When using a handguard that extends over the gas block, use of a low profile gas block is required

Note: Free float design installation requires the removal of the rifle's barrel and specialized knowledge in AR rifle disassembly / assembly. It is recommended that this part be installed by a qualified gunsmith.
