Description: Faxon Firearms RemAge 6.5 Creedmoor 24" M24 Profile Barrel for FX7 Actions. Manufactured from 416-R stainless steel with a salt bath nitride finish, this 24" M24 RemAge-style barrel is produced for the Faxon FX7 Action or a similar Remington 700 action that utilizes the RemAge barrel style. This M24-profile barrel is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and employs a 1:8 twist rate. Faxon barrels are fully stress-relieved, air-gauge tested, and Magnetic Particle Inspected to ensure superior accuracy. Faxon RemAge Style Barrels ship with a 5/8" x 24 Thread Protector and Faxon RemAge Style Barrel Nut.

Barrel Nut

Barrel shipped with barrel non Savage style barrel nut. After buying Savage barrel nut wrench that did not work. I called and emailed Faxon but NO RESPONSE.
Internet search, I found directions on consumer post advising AR15 barrel nut wrench needed. No problem, I've got one. Buffer tube spanner wrench almost fits, barrel nut portion is not even close. Borrowed buddies DPMS AR wrench, not even close. Broke out files to open throat of spanner wrench, kind of got it to fit. While torquing nut, spanner wrench slipped damaging nut.
Once again emails sent to Faxon, once again, no response.
With pooched nut, able to get barrel installed, barrel shot nice. Two boxes of ammo through barrel, punching out center of target. Guess I can live with gouged barrel nut. Bought .920 muzzle brake and while trying to time brake, both barrel and nut started to spin.
Barrel is now off action and back to drawing board. I've got a long range class next month, now know I'm not shooting rifle I bought 300 rounds of match ammo for and has me now looking for 308 ammo.
Might be a good product but lack of customer support drops barrel to one star. Lame
