I bought the recreational Mossberg 500 from a sporting good store and always thought the stock, all plastic, slide seemed loose and sloppy. After looking into the differences between the consumer and tactical models, I noticed the all metal action slide of the 590 and thought it would be an improvement to what I had. It did indeed increase the feel and stability of the racking motion. Great addition if you have the basic sporting good store model.

I wanted to modify/upgrade my Mav88 12gauge to use a Magpul forend.
This action slide and its partnered action slide nut (sold separately here @ MGW); these parts were exactly what I needed, and they work great.

This is one of the exact parts I needed to install the Magpul Forend designed for the 590 onto my Maverick 88. Additionally, Midwest Gunworks is the only place that had it in stock AND they didn't overcharge for it!
